It could be skin cancer. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A growth<\/strong> that increases in size and appears pearly, transparent, tan, brown, black, or multicolored.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A mole<\/strong>, birthmark or brown spot that increases in size, thickness, changes color or texture, or is bigger than a pencil eraser. Examine your face<\/h4>\n<p>Especially your nose, lips, mouth and ears \u2014 front and back. Inspect your scalp<\/h4>\n<p>Thoroughly inspect your scalp, using a blow-dryer and mirror to expose each section to view. Get a friend or family member to help, if you can.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1866&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>3. Check your hands<\/h4>\n<p>Palms and backs, between the fingers and under the fingernails. Continue up the wrists to examine both the front and back of your forearms.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1867&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>4. Scan your arms<\/h4>\n<p>Standing in front of the full-length mirror, begin at the elbows and scan all sides of your upper arms. Don\u2019t forget the underarms.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row el_class=&#8221;steps&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1868&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>5. Inspect your torso<\/h4>\n<p>Next, focus on the neck, chest and torso. Lift the breasts to view the undersides.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1869&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>6. Scan your upper back<\/h4>\n<p>With your back to the full-length mirror, use the hand mirror to inspect the back of your neck, shoulders, upper back and any part of the back of your upper arms you could not view in step 4.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1870&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>7. Scan your lower back<\/h4>\n<p>Still using both mirrors, scan your lower back, buttocks and backs of both legs.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1871&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>8. Inspect your legs<\/h4>\n<p>Sit down; prop each leg in turn on the other stool or chair. Use the hand mirror to examine the genitals. Check the front and sides of both legs, thigh to shin.
