While we\u2019re\u00a0focused\u00a0year-round\u00a0on the world\u2019s most common cancer,\u00a0May\u00a0is a popular time for friends of the Foundation to take initiative and\u00a0run\u00a0their own\u00a0fundraising\u00a0events. SCF Member Allan C. Harrington, MD, and his team at Anne Arundel Dermatology coordinated the event, and got many local organizations on board as sponsors for year three of the race.<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-3727 ms-image \" aria-roledescription=\"slide\" data-date=\"2019-08-14 04:03:55\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skincancer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/cosmetic-event-3-1-597x456.jpg\" height=\"550\" width=\"720\" alt=\"Clarkson Dermatology cosmetic event\" class=\"slider-3722 slide-3727 msDefaultImage\" title=\"13th Annual Spring Cosmetic Event\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><strong>13th Annual Spring Cosmetic Event<\/strong><br \/>\nHosted by Wendy McFalda, MD, and Clarkston Dermatology in Clarkston, Michigan, the 13th Annual Spring Cosmetic event was filled with exciting raffles, hors d\u2019oeuvres, cocktails and exclusive night-only discounts on skin care products. Guests learned about the latest developments in cosmetic treatments and clinical skin care while mingling at the Oakhurst Golf &amp; Country Club, and all proceeds went to The Skin Cancer Foundation. <\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-3726 ms-image \" aria-roledescription=\"slide\" data-date=\"2019-08-14 04:03:22\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skincancer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Veronica-Beard-eh3-654x500.jpg\" height=\"550\" width=\"720\" alt=\"VB Gives Back to Skin Cancer Foundation\" class=\"slider-3722 slide-3726 msDefaultImage\" title=\"Veronica-Beard-eh3\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><strong>Veronica Beard<\/strong><br \/>\nThis New York-based women\u2019s fashion brand has a charitable initiative called VB Gives Back. Each month, the founders select a woman and a nonprofit of her choice to support. This May, VB Gives Back featured New York City dermatologist Elizabeth K. Hale, MD, a senior vice president of The Skin Cancer Foundation. Dr. Hale chose the Foundation, and Veronica Beard donated $10 for every online order that month. The initiative was hugely successful and raised $20,000 for the Foundation.  <\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-3725 ms-image \" aria-roledescription=\"slide\" data-date=\"2019-08-14 04:03:09\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skincancer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Event-Particpants-Before-Class-1-655x501.jpg\" height=\"550\" width=\"720\" alt=\"Spin for Healthy Skin\" class=\"slider-3722 slide-3725 msDefaultImage\" title=\"Event-Particpants-Before-Class\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><strong>Spin for Healthy Skin<\/strong><br \/>\nOn a Saturday afternoon in New York\u2019s Flatiron neighborhood, healthy skin advocates sweated it out in spin class for a good cause. The Skin Cancer Foundation\u2019s first Spin for Healthy Skin event geared up on May 12th, just two days before the launch of <em>Destination: Healthy Skin<\/em>, our mobile skin cancer education and screening program.  <\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-3723 ms-image \" aria-roledescription=\"slide\" data-date=\"2019-08-14 04:02:07\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skincancer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Take-Your-Skin-to-a-Better-Place-web-2-628x480.jpg\" height=\"550\" width=\"720\" alt=\"Take Your Skin to Better Place 5k\" class=\"slider-3722 slide-3723 msDefaultImage\" title=\"Take-Your-Skin-to-a-Better-Place-web\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><strong>Take Your Skin to a Better Place<\/strong><br \/>\nAlso on May 12, participants in the <a href=\"http:\/\/support.skincancer.org\/site\/TR?fr_id=1060&amp;pg=entry\">Take Your Skin to a Better Place 5k<\/a> in Fort Myers, Florida, kept with the theme of getting a little sweaty for skin cancer awareness. Whether supporters walked or ran the race, they were all there to support our mission \u2014 reducing the incidence of skin cancer through education.  <\/div><\/div><\/li>\n                <li style=\"display: none; width: 100%;\" class=\"slide-3724 ms-image \" aria-roledescription=\"slide\" data-date=\"2019-08-14 04:02:27\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skincancer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/vineyard-vines-2-720x550.jpg\" height=\"550\" width=\"720\" alt=\"Vineyard Vines shopping event\" class=\"slider-3722 slide-3724 msDefaultImage\" title=\"vineyard vines 2\" \/><div class=\"caption-wrap\"><div class=\"caption\"><strong>Vineyard Vines<\/strong><br \/>\nOn May 29th, shoppers at any of Vineyard Vines retail stores in Florida received a 10 percent discount, and the brand donated 10 percent of the day\u2019s sales to The Skin Cancer Foundation.
